Jo Lauria, curator at the American Museum of Ceramic Art in Pomona, CA has been arranging for the donation of a work of Joan Takayama-Ogawa called Sustained Beauty in memory of Ted Tajima.
These words are written on Sustained Beauty:
We must follow nature’s rules,
where growth is good.
We must create sustainable art and design,
that produces more energy than what is consumed.
We must build a profitable sustainable economy,
that works with nature,
not against it.
We must discover new ways
to use waste,
to produce energy,
to motivate profit,
and ultimately improve the world.
We can do it,
if artists join leaders,
and leaders include artists.
